This time of year we’re all looking for a fresh start. But it can sometimes take a bit of adjusting to get into a new routine as we transition from our go-to warm winter foods to fresh and light springtime meals.

We put together a few tips to help you kick start your healthier springtime eating habits as you begin to seek out lighter meals, springtime flavors, and kickstart healthier eating habits.

  1. Clean Out Your Fridge and Pantry

You know it’s that time of year! Be sure to include the fridge and pantry on your spring cleaning list. Toss out expired condiments, wipe out the drawers, and re-categorize and organize your pantry.

  1. Look for Lighter Staples

Begin to stock your fridge with more salad staples and lighter ingredients for meals and snacks. Instead of pancakes and bacon, you may crave smoothies or Greek yogurt for breakfast. For snacks, try dried fruits and nuts or veggies and hummus.

Try this Everything But the Bagel Lox Wrap for a lighter tasting breakfast. Egglife egg white wraps are the perfect low-carb alternative to traditional tortillas and are a staple for any lighter meal – breakfast, snack, lunch, dinner, and even dessert.

  1. Stock up on Fresh, Seasonal Produce

Get it while it’s fresh! Fresh, seasonal produce really does taste best. Experiment with new springtime ingredients and recipes that focus on produce that is in season. Keep fruits and veggies sliced, prepared, and in sight so you are more likely to make a healthy snack choice.

  1. Hydrate

Water is essential for many processes in your body – including proper cell and organ functioning. Proper hydration also plays a role in your overall energy, focus, and immunity. Keep a water bottle with you at your desk throughout the day or in your car as you run errands and be sure to hydrate when you get outside to enjoy the longer, warmer days. If you don’t like plain water, add some fresh herbs or fruit or try sparkling waters. Eating more fresh fruits and veggies will help to keep you hydrated too!

  1. Plan Ahead

With the longer days and warmer weather, your after-work schedule may look a little different. Plan ahead for busier days and evenings by prepping meals or keeping easy to prepare meals on hand.

Pick up pre-cut veggies, prepared salad kits, or frozen burgers and veggie burgers to keep healthy go-to’s and backup options on hand. You can also save time by ordering your groceries online and scheduling a delivery or prepping meals ahead to eat throughout the week.

egglife wraps are the perfect meal prep wrap because they don’t get soggy or rip like other wraps. Make a batch of these Southwest Low-Carb BLT Wraps to keep on hand for grab-and-go lunches and dinners throughout the week. These Mini Breakfast Quiche Cups and this Breakfast Lasagna make great meal prep breakfasts too.

You can now order egglife wraps on the website, through Amazon Fresh, or schedule through Instacart with your local retailer.
